Seasons Magazine

Final Major Project (BA Graphic Design)

Date: May 2018

Type: Publication, postcards, online platforms

Size: A4, 40 pages

This was my Final Major Project in the BA Graphic Design degree. I created an independent magazine that explores the cycle of a year in Finland, a website, an Instagram account and postcards to go with the magazine.

SEASONS could be a biannual publication that, in each issue, explores the cycle of a year in a different place in the world. The magazine was born as a result of travelling and living abroad which has made me see how special seasons are. It has opened my eyes to the differences, the uniqueness and little things that I didn’t stop to look at before. It also inspired the idea: Why not document the year in different palaces and put on pages of a magazine! This way the special moments of the seasons won’t have to only exist in memories or occasional photos on your phone or Instagram feed.

A year is full of nature, culture and customs that differ from place to place. Each issue of Seasons would contain interviews with local people and visitors and photography of the country.
